Search Luna Pier Court Docket

Start with whatever office actually issued your notice. A Luna Pier court docket search splits into two tracks: city administrative matters and state court cases. Parking tickets and ordinance issues run through Luna Pier municipal channels. Traffic, civil infractions, misdemeanors, and other state matters belong to the county court system in Monroe County. Results may surface in a public state register, a scheduled calendar, or a clerk record request. None of those stands in for the others. So read the notice first, note the issuing office and the court it names, then choose the right route before you respond.

Luna Pier Court Docket City Context

Luna Pier counted 1,382 residents in the 2020 Census. That small municipal scale explains the city's parking and ordinance channels. It does not create a trial court. State cases from Luna Pier are organized by Monroe County court codes and case type. No city docket database exists.

That distinction matters in practice. A Luna Pier parking or ordinance record stays in its municipal channel until an official notice points to a state court referral or a D01 case.

The Luna Pier Municipal Court

Luna Pier has no separate Municipal Court. What it does have is a Municipal Ordinance Violations Bureau, established by Ordinance 161 as an administrative office inside the municipal building. The Treasurer supervises it. It takes admissions of responsibility and collects fines and costs for municipal civil infractions, but it is not a Michigan court and keeps no city court docket.

The City of Luna Pier official site lays out the city-government route for that administrative information.

The city route covers municipal administration only. A D01 case, calendar entry, or court record lives with the county court system and its clerk instead. No city bureau can hand it to you.

Luna Pier Court Docket Office Routes

Luna Pier City Hall and the City Clerk share one address. It is 4357 Buckeye Street, Luna Pier, Michigan 48157. Regular hours run Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The public phone is 734-848-6495. The Treasurer page follows the same City Hall route and lists extension 203. Bring city parking, ordinance, and municipal-record questions here.

The Luna Pier Clerk page documents those City Hall and clerk contacts.

A Luna Pier state court case belongs to D01, not the city clerk. Call D01 general contact at 734-240-7075; for criminal and traffic, use 734-240-7076. The city office can explain an administrative ticket. It does not keep the D01 state case file.

Luna Pier Court Dates and Settings

State-court dates for Luna Pier cases can appear on MiCOURT Court Display. Select the right court first. The public calendar shows headings for Party Name, Time, Room, and Case Number. D01 notes that its calendar lists matters set before a judge or magistrate. A displayed entry only means an event is scheduled. It does not mean the case was decided, paid, dismissed, or resolved.

Luna Pier sits in southern Monroe County. A traffic notice may point you to the Erie satellite route. Follow the court named on the citation. Keep the case number handy, and confirm the date with the court before you appear. The display does not promise that every entry shows a judge, hearing type, remote link, or outcome.

Luna Pier Parking Ticket Records

Luna Pier's parking page covers Pay-by-Plate, kiosks, the Passport app, and parking zones. All of that is city parking administration. Violating a parking permit carries a $30 fine. That climbs to $50 if unpaid within five days. The increase is administrative. It is not a D01 court judgment on its own. Nor is it a state court docket event.

The Luna Pier parking page is the city's own source for those channels.

A city parking ticket from Luna Pier belongs on the city route. Check the notice first. If a referral or paper names D01, match that court. Match the case number too before touching a state docket search. Paying online settles the city's paperwork. It says nothing about how a court case ends.

Kiosks, Pay-by-Plate, and Passport can show a zone or a payment record. They cannot build a court-file history. None of them supplies the court code and state case number that MiCOURT demands. For a permit dispute or a parking appeal in Luna Pier, hold onto the city ticket number. Then use the contact on the notice.

Luna Pier Traffic Tickets

The city's own police guidance is direct. Parking and traffic tickets can be paid online. The ticket number from the back or top of the ticket goes in the additional-information field. That is the only field instruction the city source gives. It does not create a public citation-search form or a standalone Luna Pier traffic court. The Luna Pier Police page carries the full payment instruction. It also lists the department's contact details.

A state citation goes to the D01 Traffic Division named on the paperwork. Monroe County requires any hearing request within 10 days of the offense date. Use the court the citation designates. D01 offers responsibility and hearing options. But a city payment shortcut never replaces reading the citation itself.

Luna Pier Court Docket Ordinance Bureau

Why does a Luna Pier fine look like a court case when it isn't one? Ordinance 161 answers that. It creates the Municipal Ordinance Violations Bureau inside the municipal building, supervised by the Treasurer. The bureau takes admissions of responsibility for municipal civil infractions. It runs the administrative fine process the ordinance describes.

Call it what it is when you ask about records. It is no municipal court, no state trial court, and no public case register. A court caption, a D01 code, or a state citation sends you down the court route. So does a Notice to Appear. Do not assume the bureau holds the docket.

Where Luna Pier Cases End Up

Where does a Luna Pier case land? The county court system sorts it by type. D01 takes district traffic, civil infractions, misdemeanors, preliminary examinations, small claims, and district civil cases. Felony trials, larger civil matters, Family Division cases, and qualifying district appeals belong to C38, while P58 handles probate. The city's administrative track stays outside all of these state files.

Southern Monroe County traffic can point to the Erie satellite at 12277 South Telegraph Road, Erie, Michigan 48133. The public phone is 734-848-4771. Whatever the citation designates controls. Not every local ticket reaches Erie, and not every city bureau matter reaches D01.

The South County Magistrate Office, the Erie satellite, handles traffic offenses for southern Monroe County. It also handles commercial-motor-vehicle cases. Doors are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The office closes from noon to 1:00 p.m. for lunch. Mail a payment to Erie or pay online by selecting South County. A hearing request always routes through the court named on the citation.

One caution before you drive to Erie. The satellite is a county court access point, not a Luna Pier Municipal Court. Confirm the notice, court code, date, and current office directions first. Then rely on it for a Luna Pier state traffic matter.

Match the question to the channel. A state-traffic inquiry mentions the Luna Pier location only as context. It then follows the court on the citation. A parking request goes to Luna Pier City Hall at 4357 Buckeye Street. An ordinance question names the Municipal Ordinance Violations Bureau. By contrast, a D01 matter uses the contact on the state-court notice. Geography links these offices, but their files, deadlines, and record keepers stay separate.

Public Access to Luna Pier Court Records

Michigan court records open to the public under MCR 8.119. That rule anchors any Luna Pier court docket request. For a state case, start with MiCOURT. It posts public register information. Then contact the clerk who actually holds the file, whether D01, C38, or P58, to inspect the record, order copies, or get a certified document. The Monroe joint records form is the local paperwork for this. It wants a complete case number or party names, and it asks whether you seek review of the file or copies of it.

City matters run on a different track. Luna Pier parking and ordinance records should be requested from the appropriate city office. Michigan FOIA may cover eligible municipal administrative records. It does not govern court case records. No city route can bypass sealing, juvenile confidentiality, protected information, or any other court-record restriction.

For a D01 record, the local form permits a request to review the file or obtain copies. Supply a complete case number or party names. You also choose between the complete file except nonpublic records and specifically named records. The court-use line lists $1 per page. Confirm the certified-copy fee, office process, and any electronic-delivery option with the responsible clerk before relying on that amount.

Key rule: MCR 8.119 makes public court records generally available unless a statute, court rule, or court order restricts them. A Luna Pier municipal administrative record and a court case record remain different requests.

Luna Pier Court Docket Record Boundary

Match the issuer before picking a request route. City Hall, the Luna Pier Clerk, the Treasurer, Pay-by-Plate, kiosks, Passport parking, and the Ordinance Violations Bureau are all city channels. Each is a Luna Pier municipal-administration channel. The state side runs through MiCOURT, MiCOURT Court Display, the D01 clerk, the Erie satellite, C38, and P58. Those are the court channels. Each label is a clue about where a request should go next.

Practical check: Do not treat a Luna Pier parking payment, an ordinance admission, or a public calendar row as a court judgment. Confirm the named agency and court before describing a record as a docket entry.

A search can come back empty for several reasons. The court may be wrong. The name may be spelled differently. The record may also be older, flagged for suppression, or fall into a protected category. The responsible clerk can explain the lawful access route without disclosing restricted case information.

Misclassification happens easily in Luna Pier. One ticket uses city language, and a later notice names D01. Compare the issuer, the date, the payment language, the case number, and the court caption at every stage. An administrative admission through the Luna Pier ordinance bureau is not automatically a court judgment. Nor should a D01 citation be redirected to a city parking kiosk merely because the event happened in Luna Pier.

Keep each record where it belongs. A Luna Pier administrative file stays with the city office identified on the notice. A court record stays with the D01, C38, or P58 clerk that holds it. The same split governs timing. City administrative timing comes from the city process. A state setting comes from the court calendar or the clerk. A Luna Pier ticket number has value only in the system that issued it.

City payments remain administrative transactions until a court notice says otherwise. Court searches stay court-based even when the ticket was issued locally. Pair the Luna Pier issuer with the state court code. That check keeps the city bureau and the court clerk in their proper roles. Note: Confirm current payment rules, fines, office hours, and hearing procedures with the named Luna Pier or court office before acting.
